I would like to inform you about a unique summer
program that we believe your students would find exciting and relevant to their
interests as well as future career paths.
In the Engineering
for Developing Communities program, students will learn about
community-based sustainable development through a hands-on learning experience
in Mekelle, Ethiopia, where they will study with students and staff from around
the world as well as local Ethiopian students. Throughout the course, students
will be challenged to approach problems with innovation and critical thinking
and use multi-disciplinary tools to address a wide range of engineering and
development challenges in a holistic way. The course will take place from
mid-July to mid-August 2016, and it is open to students from any field of
study – not just engineering students. In fact, we welcome and encourage
students from other fields, such as business, medicine, and international
development, to participate in this program.
We would greatly appreciate if you could pass this information on to your
students.
Applications are now open!
You can find more information about the program at our Facebook
